Lively Prayer – The key to communion with God
Prayer is at the heart of our relationship with God.
But what is a lively prayer? It is not just about words or routines, but about an honest, deep connection with our Heavenly Father.
What does a lively prayer mean?
A living prayer is a conversation with God that comes from the heart. It is more than a list of requests – it is an exchange in which we not only talk but also listen. Jeremiah 29:13 says, “You will seek me and find me when you seek me with all your heart.” Living prayer means coming to God with a sincere heart, whether it be with thanksgiving, praise, lamentation or petition. It is an expression of our faith that God hears and acts.
Intercession – Prayer in Action
An important part of prayer is intercession. In intercession, we pray for other people – for their needs, their faith or their challenges. In 1 Timothy 2:1, we read, “I exhort therefore, that, first of all, supplications, prayers, intercessions, and giving of thanks, be made for all men.”
Intercession shows that we are not only focused on ourselves, but that we carry the burdens of our fellow human beings. It is an expression of love and compassion. At the same time, intercession is a spiritual weapon that God can use to intervene in the lives of individuals, in churches, and in the world.
Living prayer and intercession are powerful means of drawing closer to God and experiencing his work in the world. They connect us to the heart of God and to the needs of our fellow human beings.
I look forward to experiencing an intensive time of prayer together with you in January. I firmly believe that God will not only answer our prayers, but will also meet us in a very special and intense way during this time.
Let us use this time to grow in faith and to experience God's closeness anew.
